Introduction to PMGP

The Promoting Models of Good Practice (PMGP) is a joint initiative of the GM South Africa Foundation and the Old Mutual Foundation. Additional project partners are EMASA (The Education Management Association South Africa), BRIDGE and CEI (Centre for Online Innovations).

The overall aim of the project is to showcase best practice and associated models of South African Education programmes, projects and campaigns.

In 2013 EMASA, CEI and BRIDGE identified 28 models of best practice and invited the implementing organizations to present these at the 2013 EMASA conference.

Twenty three of these models have been filmed, and it is anticipated that a further five will be filmed later in the year.

The PMGP project objectives are to:
• provide a knowledge management resource through which essential content and learnings of education development programmes and practice can be documented and shared
• contribute towards the development of best practice within and across fields related to the various programme areas
• promote the integration of South African education interventions and encourage a community of practice in the field of education programme development
• document interventions that respond to the needs of the South African child from cradle to career within an education and schooling context
• provide visual resources that can inform and shape South African policy and education solutions

The primary means of communication with education stakeholders will be through our PMGP interactive website.
