South African schools are faced with many challenges that often stand in the way of them being able to assist learners to perform to the best of their potential. Turning schools around requires innovative multi-pronged approaches that need to focus on key structures and organisational processes. Attention needs to be given to structures and processes at different levels in the school, especially those linked to leadership, governance and community.
